Cranberry sauce recipe
We always have cranberry sauce on our Christmas menu.
Shall we make it ourselves this year, instead of buying it?
It is very simple and it doesn’t take more than 30 minutes.
100 g brown sugar
100 ml orange juice
250 g fresh or frozen cranberries
2 tablespoons lemon juice
20 g powdered sugar
pinch of nutmeg and/or cinnamon - optional
Bring to boil orange juice and brown sugar in a pan. Stir in cranberries, cook for about 10 minutes over low heat, until they get soft but without loosing shape. Add nutmeg and/or cinnamon.
Use powered sugar and lemon juice to make icing glaze and stir it in, once the sauce cools down.
It will also thicker as it cools.
Keep it in the fridge.
