Butter your dish

As I child one of my constant memories from visiting my grandparents was their iconic butterdish, it had a mouse placed on top as a functional handle, and it had been through the wars. Cracked down the middle, it was a symbol of their tough attitude. Maybe it could also become an iconic associative memory for your grandchildren, so you'd have to ge a nice butter dish for them to remember. Or if you just don't enjoy have to unwrap you butter from the foil each time but still want to protect it, either way works fine.

As a staple good in many houses, it's important to look after your butter. I for one understand the perils of trying to butter my toast with a frozen solid block. Or even worse, butter that has been exposed to the fridge for too long. This doesn't even come into my mind and I can sleep safe and sound knowing my butter is protected by its very own dish.
